Joanna Delfunt
Initially drawn to immigration law to continue her fight against human trafficking, Joanna found her calling in the field as a whole. Joanna is a Christian and much of her love for her clients comes from the truth she has found in God's Word — that each person is loved and seen by the Lord. She is a passionate advocate for her clients, and the hope and peace she has in Jesus Christ is something she tries to bring to each client she serves.
About Joanna
Joanna built the immigration practice at Delfunt Law around a simple conviction: the person reaching out is often frightened, often researching on behalf of someone else, and deserves the same unhurried attention she would want for her own family. Her path to immigration law began with her passion for fighting human trafficking: she worked in Cambodia with a nonprofit that rescued and rehabilitated young girls from sex trafficking. In law school she received the “Mighty Mouse” award, given to the person most likely to fight for the underdog. Small but tenacious, she brings that same fight to her clients’ cases. She is one of the few immigration attorneys practicing in Forsyth County, and local criminal and family law attorneys regularly consult her when a client’s immigration status is at stake.
Her practice covers humanitarian cases (VAWA and U Visas), family-based petitions and consular processing, naturalization, and defense in removal proceedings before the immigration courts. She knows the importance of being able to communicate with her freely about your case. She has Spanish speakers who work alongside her, and her associate attorney speaks Vietnamese. Translation for any and all other languages and dialects is easily accessible through a translation service. She is able to serve clients in every state.
Joanna and Brandon are married, and the practice is deliberately small. The attorney you meet at your consultation is the attorney who handles your case from beginning to end.
